Oh! Hello, Winter Weather!
The cold weather has arrived, no doubt about it! So bundle up, runners! Don’t underestimate your tolerance for running in colder temperatures. Some of my best runs have been in “too cold for a run” weather! Dress sensibly, and in layers. Wear clothing that wicks away moisture, such as wool socks and other such wicking fabrics. Just wanted to remind everyone that it is now dark in the evenings! Don’t forget your reflective clothing and if we can wear brighter colors (less black!!) that is always helpful!
Favorite cold weather tip…wear a really thin glove with a bigger glove over the top. Then slide one of those 10 hours hand warmers in between them in the palm. I used this yesterday while running a marathon in Kansas. The start temp was 12 and the finish temp was 27. My hands stayed toasty the whole time 🙂
